Pine Tree Society to host open house featuring free hearing screenings and hearing aid workshop

BATH, MAINE (April 14, 2009) – As part of Better Speech and Hearing month, Pine Tree Society’s Audiology program will host an open house featuring free hearing screenings and hearing aid workshop.  The event will take place on Wed., May 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pine Tree Society’s 149 Front Street location in Bath. 

Hearing screenings are the essential first step in determining if you have a hearing loss. If you or a loved one have questioned your hearing, this 10-minute screening can make a world of difference.

In addition, the organization will offer an hour-long workshop covering the latest advances in hearing aid technology. The worksop will be offered at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and is appropriate for individuals who have been diagnosed with hearing loss and currently use or are considering purchasing a hearing aid. The information will help in making an educated decision about the appropriate type of hearing aid for the individual.

An Audiologist will be available throughout the day to answer specific questions. Light refreshments and coffee will be available.
