Four honored with first annual 'Spirit of Pine Tree Society' award

Pine Tree Society marked its 70th anniversary by celebrating people who truly embody the spirit of the organization.  The first annual ‘Spirit of Pine Tree Society’ awards were presented on Wed., July 19 to four people who have made a tremendous impact in the lives of Maine children and adults with disabilities and their families.

The first annual 'Spirit of Pine Tree Society' Erin Rice of Pine Tree Society presents Darrell and Carole Buzzell with the Spirit of Pine Tree Society award.awards were given to:

Darrell and Carole Buzzell
Founders of the Paddle for Pine Tree Camp, a fundraising event that started in 1997. Last year the Paddle raised about $50,000 for Pine Tree Camp.
Executive Director Anne Marsh and Board President Ken Textor present Matt Hunter with the Spirit of Pine Tree Society award.
Matthew Hunter
Member of the Board of Directors and volunteer woodworker for The Kids' Project adaptive equipment program.
