Pine Tree Camp's Accessible Treehouse
has officially opened!

"Treehouses provide a sense of freedom. Children need escape. Climbing a tree is such a simple thing, but kids in wheelchairs get left out. Accessible treehouses enable children in wheelchairs to do what most take for granted"

~James Roth of Forever Young Treehouses

Pine Tree Society partnered with Forever Young Treehouses, an organization whose mission is to construct a fully accessible treehouse in each state. Play a recent video above. Learn more about our partnership with Forever Young Treehouses.

Maine's only accessible Treehouse
Pine Tree Camp is home to Maine's only fully accessible Treehouse. This unique and innovative structure allows Maine children with disabilities to experience the wonder and pure joy of spending time in a real treehouse.

A magical place for Maine children with disabilities
Treehouses are magical places for children of all ages, but until now they've been places that aren't accessible for children with disabilities. Pine Tree Camp's Treehouse is a special place where they spend time high above the earth, where their imaginations soar and they discover new abilities together with their friends. Pine Tree Camp's Treehouse has been visited by children of all ages from all corners of Maine.

Being a child with a disability often means being left out. At Pine Tree Camp, we are completely committed to ensuring that children with disabilities can experience normal childhood activities in a beautiful outdoor setting. Pine Tree Camp's accessible Treehouse, along with our accessible nature trail system, remove obstacles and barriers, bringing people of all abilities together and closer to Maine's beautiful outdoors.
