How old does my child have to be to have her hearing tested?

Many children now receive hearing screenings shortly after birth. If they fail, the screening follow-up testing can be accomplished immediately. As the child develops more behavioral testing can be accomplished.

Will my insurance cover testing and hearing aids?

Some insurance carriers provide coverage for the hearing evaluation. Many do require a referral from your physician. Even though your insurance may pay for your hearing evaluation, they may not pay for the cost of hearing aids. Please check with your insurance carrier and physician regarding your specific coverage.
