Meet Our Staff

Pine Tree Camp is proud of its qualified and capable staff. With many years of experience in therapeutic recreation and special education, the experienced administrative staff maintains the smooth operation of the camp.

The counselors who live and work with the campers are usually high school seniors or college students. Many of them are studying for future careers in social work, rehabilitation, education or special education. They are intelligent and caring people who have the maturity necessary to adequately handle the day-to-day responsibilities of caring for campers with disabilities.

Counselors arrive a week before camp opens for intensive training on the campers’ special needs. In addition, the counselors spend time with the parents of each individual when they arrive at camp to learn about the camper's habits, care, likes, dislikes and home routine.
