Are The Kids’ Project items sturdy, and long lasting?
Yes, all of the items that you see have been researched and developed in coordination with therapists, volunteer engineers, experienced furniture makers and talented, highly skilled woodworkers. All of our products are built according to Design and Cosmetic Standards set forth by The Kids’ Project. Each piece is inspected before delivery to ensure that only quality products are shipped.
How long will my order take?
Stock catalog items will ship the day after your order has been placed. Occasionally, an item may be on back order. In this case, you will be contacted by The Kids’ Project and given an estimated time of delivery.
Can catalog items be built to my child's specific measurements?
All items in our catalog can be custom made to meet the specific needs of a child, client or student. Custom items normally take 4 – 8 weeks to be constructed.
How long will my custom order take?
Custom items normally take 4 – 8 weeks to be constructed. Once we receive the referral and measurement form, we draw up sketches and dimensions for the equipment. We will begin construction once the therapist(s), school department, or family has approved our design(s) and dimensions. Prior payment sources in the form of purchase orders; credit card payments or third party authorization must be secured before construction begins.
What materials will be used in the construction?
The Kids’ Project uses only high-quality materials that are inspected prior to construction. The majority of our items are made from Baltic Birch plywood, which has no voids in the layers, producing and incredibly durable and stable piece. All of our items are sanded to eliminate sharp and jagged edges and finished with three coats of water-based polyurethane to produce a beautiful eye- pleasing piece. Occasionally, we will work with other materials depending on the specific project or add decorative touches with prior approval.
