Meet Our Staff

Linda Bonnar, MA, CCC-SLP, ATP has been with Pine Tree Society since 1996. She has been the Director of Communication Pathways since September of 2005.

Her background is primarily in working with individuals with profound cognitive and physical challenges as well as those with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. She also works extensively with high-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users both in programming and training the student and their team members in their device use.

Linda has earned the credential of Assistive Technology Practitioner by passing an examination administered by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). She is the only Speech Language Pathologist in Maine with this credential. In addition, she attends international conferences yearly in the areas of AAC and AT, and is prepared to provide interdisciplinary services in conjunction with your primary provider team to most effectively meet your student's individual needs.

Shannon McFarland, MA, CCC-SLP has rich experience working with children with a variety of disabilities in educational settings. She is a graduate of the University of Akron where she focused heavily on Augmentative and Alternative Communication. During her time in school she worked as a graduate assistant writing Medicaid and Medicare reports requesting funding for AAC devices, maintained and programmed devices, participated in AAC. Most recently, Shannon provided diagnostic services and therapeutic interventions as well as consultation services for students ages 7 to 21 with a variety of disabilities.

Connie Sandini, MS, CCC-SLP brings a wide range of clinical experience to Communication Pathways.  A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, she has experience working with a wide variety of clients including preschool and school- aged children as well as adults. Connie has experience working with and supporting individuals who use high and low tech communication tools. She has rich experience implementing access methods and communication systems that meet the unique needs of her clients.
