Communication

Communication, the act of exchanging thoughts, messages and information, is a fundamental part of life regardless of age or ability.  For some people a disability might limit or affect the ability to communicate effectively.  For others, hearing loss, a condition that is quite common for aging adults, can make it difficult to carry on conversations and participate in everyday activities.  People who are Deaf communicate using methods alternate to the spoken word, commonly American Sign Language.  Sign language interpreters allow for communication between Deaf and speaking individuals.
