2010 Snowmobile Ride-In
Schedule of Events
The 2010 Ride-in features fun-filled events throughout the weekend. All events are held at the Sebasticook Valley Community Center unless otherwise noted. The Community Center is located at 81 North Street in Newport.
Friday, February 5
4:00 pm: Snowmobile club registration opens
6:30 pm: Start of the annual Ride-in Auction featuring a wide variety of merchandise, plan to join us for some fun and fast-paced bidding.
Saturday, February 6
7:00 am: "All You Can Eat Breakfast Buffet" at Hungry Hollow '76ers Snowmobile Club, Horseback Road, Levant (off ITS 84). Menu includes ham, eggs, pancakes, home fries, Texas toast, doughnuts, fruit, coffee, milk and juice. FMI: Steve Galen at (207) 884-8340.
7:00 am: The 6th Annual Breakfast for Pine Tree Camp at the Meridian Splendor Lodge on Route 7 in Newport. FMI: Jerry Leighton (207) 296-2085
9:00 am: Start of the Q106.5 Celebrity Egg Ride. Personalities from WQCB-FM/"Q106.5" in Brewer and WABI-TV in Bangor, as well as other celebrity riders will suit up to begin the "Egg Ride" from Levant to Newport. For each $50 the station receives in pledges, the celebrity riders will carry one raw egg in their snowmobile suits as they ride along the trail. 11:00 am (approx.): Snowmobile Parade through downtown Newport led by the celebrity egg-riders. FMI: Gary Braley at (207) 368-5808.
11:00 am to 1:00 pm: Chicken BBQ, Come one come all! Cost is $7, includes chicken, cole-slaw, chips, cookie and a drink.
1:00 to 3:30 pm: Mrs. Maine will be our guest speaker and a judge at this year’s Ride-in pageant. Watch as talented young ladies ages 3-17 compete for three different titles. The cost to enter as a pageant contestant is $10. To register, please call Erika Crawford (207) 341-1559.
4:30 pm to 6:00 pm: Public Supper sponsored by Bud’s Shop N’ Save. FMI: Florence McWilliams (207) 368-4733.
6:15 pm: Start of the annual Giant Fireworks Show overlooking Sebasticook Lake.
7:00 pm (approx.): Annual Awards Ceremony and Toteboard Tally.
Sunday, February 7
8:30 am: Registration starts for radar runs hosted by the Sebasticook Valley Snowmobile Club.
