App Smackdown: A Roundtable Discussion for Parents

Date: March 23 - March 23, 2017
Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm
Where: Pine Tree Society, 71 US Route 1, Suite B, Scarborough

With the popularity of Apple products (iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone) developers have flooded the market with apps for every possible thing imaginable including leisure and learning for children.

Are you wondering which apps might be beneficial for your child?  This dynamic session will be driven by the interests and questions of the participants, and apps for specific tasks or skills will be covered as requested.  Participants are encouraged to share their favorites as well.

Some of the areas that may be covered based on the interests of the group might include, but not be limited to:

  • Early Learning
  • Reading/Writing Support
  • Concept Development
  • Language Development
  • Appropriate Leisure Engagement
  • Scheduling
  • Organization
  • Video modeling for task completion (washing hands, getting on the bus, going to the doctor, etc.)

This Roundtable Discussion will be led by Linda Bonnar M.A. CCC-SLP/ATP, Director of Communication Pathways at Pine Tree Society. This session is appropriate for parents/caregivers of preschool through high school children.

RSVP online here or call Lori Manson at 386-5915. Space is limited. Light refreshments will be served.
